Koutalidis Law Firm announces the admission of Lydia Sofrona as a new partner in its Tax Law Practice.
With over 15 years of experience in the Greek tax administration, having served as head of legal services for the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) and as a legal counsel for the former Alternate Minister of Finance, Lydia advises domestic and multinational corporations on direct and indirect taxation matters, with an emphasis on domestic and cross-border business restructurings, EU and international corporate taxation, real estate taxation, tax procedures, dispute resolution and litigation.
Lydia has extensive knowledge of corporate taxation and tax procedures, having participated actively in the formulation and development of the Greek income tax code and the Greek tax procedures code, and is a regular contributor to Greek and international tax law journals. As an external senior tax law expert for the International Monetary Fund, she also advises a number of jurisdictions on tax law design and implementation issues.
