Competition expert Stamatis Drakakakis has joined Koutalidis Law Firm.
He joined from Tzouganatos & Partners where he served for almost four years representing clients such as Greece’s telecommunications provider, OTE, and the Greek privatisation funds group Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund.
With a practice that covers both EU and Greek competition law, including state aid and competition litigation, Drakakakis has experience advising companies before Greece’s Competition Commission and the European Commission, and representing clients before EU and Greek courts.
“I am excited to be joining a firm of this calibre and am looking forward to being part of Koutalidis’s growth in the area of EU and national competition and regulatory law,” says Drakakakis. “It will be a privilege to work alongside the highly respected Koutalidis team.”
Nikos Koritsas, managing partner of Koutalidis in Athens, says that the firm are “really enthusiastic and proud” to welcome Drakakakis: “Stamatis is a well established EU and Greek competition law practitioner and we are sure that he shall bring added value and shall further strengthen our EU and Greek competition and regulatory practice,” she adds.
Dimitris Tzouganatos, managing partner of Drakakakis’s previous firm Tzouganatos & Partners said: “We would like to thank Stamatis for helping us remain at the top of law firms specialising in competition law and wish him luck at Koutalidis Law Firm, which we think of very highly.”
Drakakakis is listed in The International Who’s Who of Competition Lawyers & Economists.
